A Woman's Worth

I posted this on May 15, 2009.  I pray it blesses you, the reader!  God bless & take care!

Introduction
This is something that has been on my heart but took a little while to complete. Today is a great day for me and my family because of some great things that have transpired. My sister, who is tagged on here, graduated from college, while my baby sister (along with my lil' brother) graduated from high school and my mother--God bless my mother--made 50 today, although she doesn't look a day past 37 (when I was in college, people asked me if she was my girlfriend....that's how beautiful and youthful my mother was and still is). Happy Birthday momma!!! So, it is very fitting that I finished this poem yesterday and am posting it today.

Ladies, this is something that God put on my heart that I wanted to share to honor and encourage my mother, and my sister, while encouraging & challenging all of the ladies out there to be great and reach beyond themselves and their circumstances to be the supernaturally-empowered world-shaker that God has called you to be--in your homes, on your jobs, in the political arena, in the church, etc. Be encouraged and empowered by it's message. God bless you richly & feel free to share this with other ladies!!!!

A WOMAN'S WORTH (by: Floyd Prescott)

Value aspired to one whose price is potentially above rubies,
Fine jewelry, unique in aura, shape, size & demeanor--
Overall beauty, I mean, some choose not to respect her,
Because they really don’t understand a woman’s worth;

Value is relative to each beholder’s set of eyes,
And unfortunately, some beholders’ eyes are filled with lust and wrong desires,
Trying to compromise the masterpiece’s value for personal satisfaction,
Because most really don’t understand a woman’s worth;

Value can also be accessed by the potential that lies within,
But what determines that potential and how can she begin,
To fulfill that greatness, with basic abasement and sustaining strength,
It’s only when she can see the greatness of a woman’s worth;

Value can be diminished with improper touches and blemishes,
The wrong handler can take you quickly to loser from winner,
Deception and lies to pry the soul, assume control, bring the curse,
This is epidemic how the enemy tries to tarnish, destroy a woman’s worth;

Value, however, can be restored when additives, filth are wiped clean,
When past stumbles become real lessons, Truth and character redeemed,
Fortified in right spirit, built up in soul and person,
So precious in the sight of God is the restored woman’s worth;

Value is greatly enhanced as potential becomes fulfilled,
Things envisioned upon inception become (reality’s) real,
Manifestations so unique, glorious and certainly divine,
These are beautiful expressions that show a real woman’s worth;

Value is scrutinized and even tested at times,
Will the will bend or break or melt under enemy fire,
Testing you to the point where you seem like your own worst enemy,
Without it, you would never know the power of the woman’s worth;

Value leaves a legacy the stands for years after redemption,
Time will only tell the blessings that this legacy issues,
Usually greater than what was ever envisioned at birth,
Ultimately the end will tell how well the woman redeemed her worth!

“A virtuous woman who can find, for her price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10).” Ladies, you are so beautiful and so needed in our society to be who God has created you and called you to be. For centuries, many of your have been abused, misused, misunderstood, taken advantage of, devalued and cursed in our societies worldwide. But, you have a significant place in God's Kingdom, and just like there were many women in the Bible that God raised up to do great things, you are no different. What you represent in the future homes of America is so, so, so needed for the children of tomorrow—the children of tomorrow need you to rise up and be more virtuous today so that their tomorrow is much brighter. YOU HAVE A DESTINY & A PURPOSE. You are the mothers, daughters, pastors’ wives, teachers, politicians, leaders, etc. that we need to rise up and do some Kingdom business like the woman in Proverbs 31. You have been created for greatness; but, if you choose to stay under or around negative things or persist in maintaining negative attitudes with no desire to or pursuit of REAL CHANGE, then you will simply be BELOW AVERAGE at best.

Please hear my heart—I hurt because I see so many (not all, but so many) of you hurting, unfulfilled and in bad places emotionally, spiritually, relationally, etc.; now, if I am hurting and I am AN IMPERFECT MAN, how do you think God feels about your plight? Ladies, PURSUE HOLINESS & GO AFTER GOD with all of your hearts. Please leave the deadbeat men alone; even if a man serves you, but you know the man does it only for sex and/or whatever he can get out of you, leave him & run as fast as you can—God has something better for you! No man can love you, fulfill you or care for you like Jesus can—not even the ones that seem like they are good. Plus, if the man doesn’t have Jesus, he’s not good (because none of us are really good without God—Rom. 3:10). Also, for those of you woman who are, have been, or know some woman that has been abused—please do what you can to flee now; pray –seek God for deliverance out of the situation, then get around a good support group for protection, encouragement and restoration.

Don’t settle for 2nd best or 2nd less, as I have seen SOME (not all, but some) do—not in occupation, pursuit of dreams, relationships, your family, your community, your church, etc. You were created to be daughters of the King of the universe, but some of you either have in the past or currently are settling for being the servants/slaves of an imposter and wanna-be. Don’t let the devil “trick” you; you rise up and be all that you can be in God. Then, in time, watch the world rise up, praise you & call you blessed (Proverbs 31:28). I love you, not for what you do for me, but for who you were created to be. Don’t just think that you are God’s daughter BY DEFAULT, but live like one—His Word shows us how. Not all of you are down, so don’t take this wrong—if you are “up,” this is only encouragement to STAY UP, but if you are DOWN, this is a CALL for you to COME UP!!! I LOVE YOU with God’s love—God bless!
